i have a 53 truck and am wondering what size beds and tailgate would fit.
I still need a tailgate and rear bumper for my truck and am trying to find a reasonably priced used ones.

Do you mean late model beds? If you mean original beds, look for stock bed, 53-72

I'm just wanting to know when i'm looking for used beds, which ones are the same
i know the 53-56 are the same, but are the 57-72 the same exact bed and tailgate also.
From what i've read so far the 53-72 are all the same

I believe the only difference you will find in the 53-72 truck beds is the placement of the running boards. When they went from the full length running boards (front fender to rear fender) to the short running boards in 57, they moved them up about an inch. That difference is just a set of bolt holes in the fenders.

No big deal. I bought a used set of the newer fenders and just filled the bolt holes. The reinforcing on the inside of the fenders had the holes in both locations drilled, so I just had to drill from the inside out.

The beds themselves are the same.

You'll need to be a little more specific. That can mean most anything. What beds will fit your truck will depend on your model series and wheelbase.
