Well I cannot figure out whats causing my injector drive module to set a P1316 code. I am going to take it to a shop. Does anyone know of a good reputable shop in th Bakersfield CA area? The dealer is out because they have no diesel mechanics right now and they will not take appointments for diesels. They say I will have to leave it for a couple of weeks. Can't do that.

Probably an easy fix. You most likely have an UVCH that has come loose. Pull your valve covers and make sure they are connected properly. If you run a buzz test you may find some injectors quieter, most likely that is the offending side. This is by far the most common reason for a P1316 code.

A problem that gets overlooked is a burnt injector common pin (middle pin) on the inside of the VC gasket connector. If it is black and doesn't clean up it is burnt. That pin gets 4 times the use of the individual injector pins.

Got a new UVCH, Ohmed out the wiring harness from the connector @ IDM and all check good even during extreme wriggle test. Double and triple check all connections even under valve cover. Ohm each injector. Only thing I havn't replaced is the injectors or the wiring harness.

I'm goinng on vacation in a couple of weeks for a week and I think I'll leave it at the IH dealer here in town.

No mention of new VC gaskets. Have you checked the VC connector for a burnt injector common pin. See this LINK

Does the engine run rough on occasion? Do you get a CEL light.? My P1316 problem was the connector being loose but it would ohm OK when it the engine was cold, but would not when the engine warm.
Like Robin says, better check the pins on the connector.
