Aside from him being one of the greatest out there, other than Merle of course, what other musician do you know that has a whole collection of CD's/Albums in which not a single song is duplicated to fill space?
This does not include "Greatest Hit's" CD's/Albums.
Hank Sr. & Jr. were/are both great. Their albums are right next to Don Williams, Merle, & Waylon in my cd rack.
My wife listens to all of the pop music and tries to get my daughter to listen to it also. My daughter is always telling her to change the station. She prefers the old country & new head banging rock over the pop/crap that Mom likes.
She is a GREAT kid.
Hank Jr. is the man! He tells it like it is and doesn't water the message down like a lot of 'em do.
I think Charlie Daniels is one of the greats too. He didn't use traditional country music, but he made some great songs that don't mess around either.
I like Alabama's early songs up to about maybe 5 years ago. They really screwed up when they bought the rights to that pop song, I can't think of the name of it right now. But I do like "When it all goes South". That's about it for them. I do want to go see them in Raleigh on July 12.

I saw him years ago in concert and it was one heck of a show. Steve & I have since seen him twice and were very disappointed. Since he's found religion, he's changed the words to many of the songs that made him famous. Can't even sing along anymore. I still love his music, just not live. I like gospel sings, but only when I plan on going to one.
The last time we saw him, he was the "closing act" for Hank, Jr.
I guess Hank didn't want everyone leaving or complaining about having to sit through CD's new music. About 3/4 of the crowd left half way into CD's part of the concert (us included).
The good 'ol Grateful Dead played over 37,000 songs over a 35 year span, and none of the 2300 plus shows were the same. The last shows I saw were in 1995 in Portland, Oregon at the speedway. Chuck Berry played the opening slot both days and practically repeteted his show from day to day, as do most touring bands.
Well I though Bocefus was a pretty good choice too Carlene. The one that came to my mind was the Rolling Stones though. They've put out so many good albums over the years. Unless you count any recorded live albums, I don't think they ever rerecorded anything or included old material for filler.
I think uni has a good pick with the Dead though. Like he said, they were very dynamic. We have a local radio station that has a weekly show called 'Gratefull Grooves'. Most of the stuff they play was live recorded at their shows with amateur equipment. Still good enough audio for radio and well worth listening to.
The Dead, just 'the Dead', is the new working name for the remaining members of the Grateful Dead, plus guitarist Jimmy Herring, notably from the Phil Lesh and Friends and Jazz is Dead projects. They are mounting a tour, I hope to see them.
old hank is singing all the way to the bank. he is definitely talented . My favorite of all time and the Queen of country whom had more , pure , god given talent than any person yet to take a stage ...in my opinion is Patsy Cline...She sang with a voice like no other and i doubt we will ever see her level of talent again.....fd
i grew up listening to Hank Williams Jr. i enjoyed his music until i saw him singing along side Kid Rock at an award show. i've lost all respect for Hank Jr. after watching that performance, i knew the world had gone bad.
