2011 Eco-boost has joined it's older siblings

Well, after quite a delay while learning how to post more pictures here, we can proudly announce the arrival of the latest Ford pickup in our fleet. Stepson, Shane, bought a new 2011 F 150 Eco-Boost yesterday evening. That got me into photo mode today, well the sun shine helped, so I took pictures of all 3 trucks.

The new arrival gets top billing:

2011 F150 EcoBoost

2011 F350 CC SB FX4 Diesel

2002 F150 SuperCrew

The truck in front of the 2002 SuperCrew is a 1997 Ranger Pre-Runner, designed, fabricated and assembled by Shane. It has been out to the big dunes at Silver Lake, Mi. several times...it does do the job. He was daily driving it until yesterday...I wonder why it's parked?

Tom

Thanks for fixing the pics

Regards

Now that's a FORD family! Good looking truck, just like the others.

It looks like the weather is turning much nicer as all the trucks look clean and polished.........

Looks great, Rick!

I fixed your picture links, in the future if you use "[IMG]" tags instead of "[URL]" tags they will display automatically.

I have to admit, I REALLY like those EcoBoost F150s. I test drove one back in December and was really blown away. Certainly not as capable as our diesel mills, but for as much towing I do an EcoBoost truck would fit the bill perfectly. Had these been available when I needed a new truck I would be frequenting the F150 forums more than the diesel ones right about now. If they prove to be reliable an EcoBoost F150 is in my future at some point, but probably not for at least a few years!

My father got an Eco-Boost on Mar 10. He loves it, and I have not sat in it yet but I hear that it is a great truck. Nice pics.

My boss and I went to look at an '11 F150 Lariat 4x4 Ecoboost yesterday. He's struggling with whether to get the 5.0 V8 or get the EcoBoost. The towing capacity with the EcoBoost appears to be a lot greater than the V8 (except for the 6.2). As usual, I had to educate the salesman. My boss calls me a rainman on this sort of thing. (It's all thanks to FTE!!)

I do not know how the F150 will run with the 5.0. I do know how the new EcoBoost compares to Deb's 2002 SuperCrew with the 5.4. I have driven the 2002 quite a bit. I never found it to be underpowered. I do now. The EcoBoost is quite a bit stronger.

...rainman...that made me laugh...if one wants to listen and learn, there is a wealth of knowledge available here at FTE...

Very nice, congrats to him! Please keep us a mini review of the truck when you get some time. My pops needs a new truck and that may be the one for him. He just needs to haul a Ranger Bass boat.

Nice truck

I'm curious to know how it performs in the MPG department, in the real world. If that stepson of yours decides to keep some numbers, please share

Nice looking truck, I really like the dark blue color.
I just looked at the engine specs. for the F150,
and the EcoBoost has close to the same HP & T as the 6.2L.

What did you get from UPS?

Awesome. Have you seen this article yet? The EcoBoost seems to be pretty solid.

Evidently, just the color scheme... ironically, the blue would have been the first choice had the dealer had a blue F350 in stock...I had to settle for the UPS colors...but I am glad I did...I get more comments on my truck than any vehicle I have ever owned.

Yes, Shane has studied every detail and watched every F 150 EcoBoost video. He wanted a Raptor but settled for the EcoBoost...good move IMO

Rick - I saw a new explorer in UPS Brown the other day. I guess it's catching on

I'm surprised they don't offer the eco boost in the raptor... maybe we will see the twin turbo applied to the 5.0L for a future version!

I love the color of the UPS truck, eh F350.

That's what I want but other half won't let me. I will take the win of getting the truck and letting her pick the color.
