I'm not recommending pioneer, because I actually don't have a clue what a good brand is. I've heard good things about them so I guess they would be a good place to start. Try googling car audio and a bunch of stuff will come up. A local audio shop could point you in the right direction as well, just don't let them drag you into something you don't want.
Thanks a bunch Luke. The back ones were the ones I was most concerned about. Are the pillars hard to get off? Ive never had mine off before.
Pull the striker plate off the floor, and pull the weatherstripping away from the pillar(I just took mine completely off.)
You'll need a T-50 Torx head for the seat belts.(O'reillys had a full set for 14 bucks) There's a bolt at the top where the belt attaches, and a bolt on the floor buried under some carpet and such.
After that pop the pillar off, being careful not to break the tabs that hold it in place.(I'm currently missing a few ) Slide the seat belt out of the hole in the bottom and you're done. Took me about ten minutes to get each one off.
5x7 or 6x8 will work. some 5.25 or 6.5s will work some come with a ring to screw in place of the oval speaker to replace it with the round speaker. i have all 4 pioneer 5.25s
I have mtx speakers in the front doors and they are ok, not worth the money imo. With the little reading i have done in the sound system forum, people suggest modding the rear oval speakers to round. You will get a much better, more crisp sound. I would also put round ones in the front doors if i were to do it over again.
