Truck Value?
Hi everyone,
I am currently considering selling my 1999 Ford F-250 V10 due to the fact that I need the cash to put down on building a workshop. I was wondering if I could get some input on what I should try selling it for if I actually go through with selling it.
The truck has 125k miles and it had a brand new crate engine from Ford put in at 85k. It also has had the transmission professionally rebuilt at 95k and is still under warranty. I have replaced numerous parts and maintained this truck extremely well. The body is in good shape but has two small dents and the paint on the hood is fading.
The add-ons it has are:
-8 inch Facbtech lift with Procomp shocks (the back is lifted about 4 inches)
-20x10 inch chrome rims
-almost new 35x12.5 Toyo mud terrains
-2" hub-centric wheel adaptors on all wheels
-5k worth of stereo add-ons (2 12's, all new speakers, touchscreen, dvd, etc)
-Flowmaster / K&N
I think that is all and the truck runs great. I have about 20k into it as I bought it 3 years ago already lifted and I was hoping to get around 12-14 thousand back. Does this sound realistic? The only thing that I think may keep me from getting that is the paint fade and dents. Let me know what you guys think.

It is a 4x4 crew cab xlt and no accident history. I tried to attach a picture. I am not sure if it worked.

Well you may get some differing opinions, but, $12k-$14k is kinda steep. If you sold your truck on your own, which is what I would recommend, you should definitely take 10k if someone offers it to you. You would probably be offended to know what a dealer would offer you for it. Yours is so modified, that it might be worth trying to put some stock gear back on it, and trying to sell the tires, lift, etc... Your truck would still be worth the same without it, maybe more, and probably be easier to sell at the same time. Similar trucks, (mostly stock) sell at dealer auctions in the $6k-$7k range.
