F-350
Hey guys, Im the owner of that 57 F 350. I originally listed the truck on e-bay to see what could come from it. Realizing that it was a truck and a big project I wasnt surprised noone bid on the truck however, the attention it gained off ebay was incredible, as i see in part by your discussion.
Just as an update FYI, Chuck from Chucks Trucks and I have had a few lengthy conversations regarding this truck. It seems to us the the front axle may be the same axle that NAPCO used in the GM products. That would be a good thing as we believe finding parts just became that much easier. Lets also consider that among the NAPCO trucks out there the majority by a huge lead are the GM trucks and a distant 2nd Studebaker. Ford was the last in line as far as production. To further add, this the 350 series was the last of the last in numbers produced. So, say what you will this truck has a big value to the right people. Off the record I have had some very nice offers well above the price I listed as the starting bid.
For me, I have put a few things into the truck, I also registered the truck, had it inspected and take it through town from time to time. I would love to restore the truck but like most tinker tots out there I too have other projects and for me one at a time is all I want to do, it just gets out of control when doing more than one. I am however looking for parts for the front end, mainly the king pins, bearings etc. I dont know whats involved but i feel a slight loose shimmy in the passenger side wheel, bottom pin.
thanks Guys, happy Motoring
