After reading a bunch of threads about rough idling, I decided it was time to clean my IAC valve to see if it did any good. All of the threads I read said it was a quick job and did a lot of good.
Well, it DID do some good, after the cleaning my truck purrs like a kitten at idle, but what a friggin' nightmare it was to get that valve on and off. I'm convinced again that Ford paid someone to figure out where to place that valve so that it would be as close to impossible to remove/replace. AND, it cost me 2 extensions and 2 sockets that are still floating around in the engine bay somewhere.
To those who call this a "simple" job or bragged about it only taking 35 minutes or so to do, my hat is truly off to you.
