Yes, just run the wire down the hole in the enclosed area common to the taillight. I used a 2 prong connector so it is easily removable. Run the wires to the trailer brake light wire and a good ground.

Not trying to be smart a$$, but doesn't it blink with one of your turn signals ? I took mine to the brake light switch, maybe I didn't have to.
Thanks for the replys. I was concerned with the flashing as well. I would think the brake light would work but it would also flash when the appropriate turn signal is activated.
It is a long run up to the brake switch from the back of a crew crab!
The trailer brake signal is just that a brake signal. You also have turn indicator wires in that harness too. There is a small electric unit that most canopy dealers have that allows you to wire it into the lights. You just have to get a wire to each side, then it requires an input from both sides before it will send an output to the third brake light. I have done it both ways, and both work fine.
Thats a very interesting article, as soon as it quits raining I'm going out to see if my F250 has that extra wire he describes, At 66 I still do learn something new every day. I also didn't know about the logic box, thanks for the info.
Perfect timing on the cap wiring question. I've found the green wire so that should work for the brake light. What are you guys doing for the 12 volt light for cap interior?

I found a set of "Racing LED Driving Lights" at Wally World. They were $14. Slim line little lights, far from driving lights but great canopy lights. I just wired them to the parking lights circuit, so you have to have the lights on to make them work, but was a simple hook-up. I ended up using the cheesy rocker switch that came with the lights.
