I've not, but since it is a reading signal only you are after, I don't see why not....
(one of the reviews said he got it for a scangauge and an ultragauge !!!)
I wouldn't try to clear codes or anything with the shared connection, but two gauges ? why not !
darn you, since I have 2 scangauges now.... I had to order one !

Interesting never new they made splitter cable for the OBD11 port. Thanks for sharing..
Thanks for finding that!! I guess anybody could make one but the possibility to screw up your pcm/ecm etc is buyer beware
like stated I wouldn't use two devices that input to the truck or if it is on command only (like a dtc clear etc) then make sure the two unit's aren't doing it at the same time
I may get one because every time I needed my OBD port for tunning I have to unplug My insight and it looses some info
I wouldn't... Unless you're only reading info. Any unit that sends info back through the OBDII is where it's going to get sketchy. That being said I think I'll order one too lol.
Zmann, I was thinking the same thing with the Insight & all. Do you buy much from Amazon?
I purchase from Amazon all the time.. Free shipping on most items if order is 25.00 or more. ( I Don't Know About Shipping To Canada ) They also have a good return policy...Just My .02 lol
I think you'll find that even the read only gauges have to send commands to the PCM on the CAN bus to request the data. I don't think all of the PID's are being sent across the bus at all times, only those that are requested. So unless I am completely misunderstanding the operation of the CAN bus, requests for data are being repeatedly sent to the PCM, and data is being sent back in response.
That being said, the CAN bus is essentially a 2 wire computer module network. On the 6.0L, it is used internally in the PCM to provide communications between the Engine Control Module and the Transmission Control Module and also connects to the Data Link Connector. On newer vehicles I'm sure it's been expanded to include additional modules, with the idea eventually being that the CAN bus would be the only data network.
The basic principles of any bus style data network allow for multiple access.
The ScanGauge and harness was purchased from Amazon. Not sure what your point is ?
Emailed both James at ScanGauge and Edge. James stated the Scangauge would not be affected and Edge would not say one way or the other.
