2006 F250 4x4 here. I was wondering what is the difference between 4x4 High, and 4x4 low? The instruction manual didnt really shed much light on it for me.
It sorta depends on your point of view and conditions. Low gives you a lot more torque. It also slows you down a lot, letting you crawl over rough terrain without beating the crap out of your truck.
Thanks! So I guess for offroading, probably best to use High unless you really need the extra torque?
It's really a situational thing, most of the time you won't ever need to worry about using it, last and first time I ever had to really use it was to pull a truck out of a mudpit up a 30%-40% grade
4x4 high is for going regular speeds, daily driving in bad conditions. 4lo is for crawling slow, think of bike gears. 1st gear is 4lo, makes it really easy on the trans and motor to pull heavy stuff, offroading with big tires etc...
