Bill My sister and her Husband own the big Avocado Ranch just north of the Reagan Library, that AF1 is aimed at... so needless to say I have been there quite a few times... But Honestly it is just a really nice 707 nothing new for me! The historic Value of being the aircraft that Carried JFK back to DC is huge though..... I do love Marine 1 though, I have also been to the Nixon Library many times... and quite a few of my fellow pilot friends have Aircraft at Chino Planes of fame... one of my favorite Museums...because the vehicles actually still fly..

Ooops I got them mixed up again
SAM 26000 was from Kennedy to LBJ that one carried Kennedy's, and Later LBJ's bodies to the funerals....
SAM 27000 was Nixon to Clinton that is at the Reagan Library now
SAM's 28001 and 28000 are the latest AF1's the 747 type! which are impeccably maintained, clear down to polishing the Turkey feathers on the engine exhaust... The 747's always fly in two's several miles apart, to confuse potential aggressors. With teh protection of several Eagle Fighters usually 6 each as escort... and anywhere from 1-5 C17's to haul the Secret service vehicles and the presidential motorcade Limo's

Annually there's a Christmas tree exhibit at the Reagan. Usually one tree for each decade we've been a country, and each decorated to reflect that decade.
The most depressing seems to be the one for the '60's, with references to Vietnam. All are interesting, and some are predictable.
If you go after November 17th, not only will the trees be on display, but there is a current exhibit called "Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives" that will still be there.
If you haven't seen the Reagan, do so!

Labor day weekend: Reagan Library on Saturday, Autry Museum on Sunday, Nixon Library on Monday. Tuesday I collapsed, back hurting like sin.
Nixon Library Watergate display isn't the whitewash it once was. National Archives have taken over all the presidental libraries, so Watergate display now presents the facts.
Gaze across the valley from the Reagan Library, there's a large avocado grove on the slope of a hill. Just to the east is a house w/a much smaller avocado grove.
In the 1960's, "Cars of the Stars and Planes of Fame" located in Anaheim, owned by a fellow named Brucker who rented vehicles/planes to the film studios.
At some point, don't recall when, the cars were auctioned off, planes were moved to Chino.
The last time I was at Chino was the day "Pappy" Boyington was there. He wasn't in a good mood, but that wasn't a surprise, as his SOB reputation preceeded him wherever he went.
I asked him to autograph my copy of his autobiography "Baa Baa Black Sheep." He said: "Did you read it?" I quoted a couple of incidents from the book, asked who "Colonel Living Lard" was. He signed it, but didn't say.

The Larger grove with the Big Blue house with white trim, and Large water tank near it! Required water in case of fire...
Many years ago 1985 or 86 if I recall I was at Edwards AFB Air show... Greg Boyington was there, and was a real crab a$$ But not so with kids..... Met Chuck Yeager many years later, Around 2000 or so.... He was just as nice as could be... My Son just loved him! he flew into the Edwards show that year in a P51 a replica of Glamorous Glennis... did a barrel roll over the crowd at about 250 KIAS... of course the place roared with cheering fans....
