Hi,
I am having a problem which seems to stump everyone so I figured I would post, thank you in advance for any suggestions:
1985 F250 351 4V 4x4 automatic, manual choke carb.
Truck starts up fine and will run forever, however as soon as you shut it down it will not start again unless you let it sit for greater than 6 hours. It is getting Gas as I can see from carb and even tried manual pouring in. It also seems to be getting spark as I can generate a spark.
Nothing I have tried so far works, engine turns over fine but will not fire unless you let it sit. Its cool after a few hours but that is not enough.
Everyone will suggest the ignition module (which is a common failure) - but I have experienced a dying coil which would maintain ignition until switched off, then need a complete cool-down to restart, even with some spark at the plugs, as you describe.
