Compressor break in oil

I just bought a 80 gal sanborn compressor, and on the way home in my bronco (i had it on its side) all the oil that came in it factory leaked out luckily it all stayed in the bag covering the motor. What should I use as break in oil? Just synthetic oil like the manual reccomends after the break in period or is the break in oil something different?

There is nothing special about breakin oil. In compressors it is the same oil what you would change it to. They call it breakin because after running it a few hours they want you to drain out all the dirt and contaminates that got in there during assembly. You can replace it with the synthetic that the manufacturer recommends or you can put regular hydraulic oil ISO 32. I personally would use the cheap hydraulic oil. It will last you for years.
