Axle swap ?

Does anyone know if a Monobeam front axle is a straight forward swap for a twin I-beam axle in a four wheel drive '96 heavy 250?

Yes. it will bolt right in, in place of a D50TTB

You will need
a D60 from a 95-97 F350
Trac bar, trac bar bracket.
F350 leaf springs
F350 front driveshaft is optimal but not entirly necessary
If the F350 d-shaft is used, you will also need the t-case front yolk from a F350

You can use a 85.5-94 d60 but you will need to use the calipers from the donor axle

Is it realy neccisary to get the f350 leaf springs if you already have aftermarket leaf springs because of the 4 inch lift?

No. F250 and f350 lift springs are the same

Looks like I'll have to stick with the twin I-beam,$1300.00 for Monobeam versus $350.00 for L/H I-beam. I'm going to attempt to straighten & weld the one I have.
Thanks Butch

I am in upstate NY, & that is the quote I got from the nearest salvage yard. They didn't have one, but They said that was what They could get one for.
