Truck is a 75 F100 with the 300 I6. I was driving on the highway the other day, and it just died on me. I coasted to the side of the road and tried to restart it. It kept cranking but would not fire. Towed it back home. I checked the fuel pump to see if it was pushing fuel to the carb. It wasn't, so i got a new one. Still not pushing fuel to the carb. I checked to see if it was pulling fuel to the pump, and it was. I figured the diaphragm on this new one was bad, so i threw another new one on it today. Still nothing. I have ample fuel in the line coming to the pump, but it will not push fuel up to the carb. There is no blockage in the line going to the carb, or the filter on the carb...I already checked. Any ideas?
You may need to check the timing position of every thing cant remember but sounds like the pump lever is not engaging right ...... do a search on fuel pump installation so you get it timed right
Right, its not getting fuel to the carb..................unless your filter is between the pump and the tank.........the fuel has to pass thru the filter to reach the carb. Then it has to go thru the needle and seat which is operated by the float to fill the float bowl on the carb................
