2011 Tire Replace -will 285/75/18 rub?

A friend just picked up his 350 CC 6.7 & it has Continentals.. He ranches full time and has usually run Toyos - I think the Open Country A/T. He asked about running bigger A/T's - He has 8"x18" wheels onto which a 285/75/18 will fit as per the Toyo site.

My question - Has anyone run this size on Stock truck (No Lift). The Overall Diameter is 34.8".... will it rub without a lift?

Thanks for any comments..

I ran them on my 2006 truck and had no problems. It was a stock truck.
No rubbing, didn't touch anywhere. I can't imagine the 2011 are that much different as far as wheel space. So he should be good

It will not rub. The only time you really have to worry with 35's is if you go with a 325 on the stock wheel. Then it will rub a bit due to the width. The 285's will fit perfectly.

Did he end up getting these? I have 18" wheels also and would like to see some pictures with a bigger tire. Cannot decide if I want to stick with the 18 or go to 20 when I replace my tires. (and yes I have seen plenty with the 20's so I know they look good )

Pictures if you can, thanks.

He is getting it done... I probably won't see the truck for a while - he lives about 150 miles from me...

Quite a bit of info related to F-350 trucks but not much luck with the F-250 trucks.
I'm sure there is a height difference between the two that would make the 285/75/R18 Toyo possibly too large for an F-250?
Again, no experience and I'm guessing.

Byram, are your BFG tires 285/65/R18 since that's the only BFG 285 option (at least that I can find) for the 18" wheels?
...unless of course you have the 17" wheels.

Still reading and attempting to decide what I'll replace these Conti's with but sooner or later, they have to go.
Seems like the BFG 285/65/R18 is a safe option to go with.

I had my 350 sitting right next to my friend's identical 250. His front end actually sat a bit higher, but mine was higher in the back. My point is that if it fits a 350, it will probably fit a 250.

I too would like to see some pics with bigger/wider tires on the stock 18" rims. I really don't want to go to aftermarket wheels and lose the ability to completely unlock the front axle.

Toyo and BF Goodrich both offer that size in 18" wheels.

That tire is only 1 1/2 " taller than the stock tire, You are talking 3/4" more rubber all around the tire. Visiably, it not that much more to see. Just a little larger sidewall.
