Want to remove the rear rotors from my 03 X to either replace or have turned. I have had many a truck that the rotors have been hard to remove but nothing like this. Started to remove them 3 hours ago and have gotten nowhere as of this moment. Any hints or new tricks people have come up with would be great. The emergency brake adjuster is not moving but they don't seem to be grabing the rotor as I can turn the rotor freely, been spraying with PB but no luck yet, I'll hit it a few more times I guess and let it sit over night
the hat ziezes to the hub you will need a couple of 2x4's and a 3lbs sledge and beat the rotor off the hub assy they are floating rotors just like the front, just they are rusted on, i broke three 2x4's to remove both rear rotors on my truck the first time. the truck came from canada, when putting them back on coat the hat with antize or grease to prevent from happening again.
You can use a torch on the rotor which should expand the rotor enough to aid with the pounding that Jack mentions. You can hit the rotor from the front as well which can help loosen things up. I wouldn't recommend turning them - rotors are a problem on these trucks and less material is not going to help any. Rotors are fairly cheap (~$55 for Napa Premiums) and a lot of shops are now replacing vs. turning.
Guess the PB finally ate through, only rust was was a thin band around the hub, to bad you can make rust to fix other things, holds on like you can't belive almost like a weld

I was going to get the Napa rotors like you suggested till I found out the warranity is only 90 days, seems short to others that are 1 and 2 years. Have they always had such a short warranity?
Found Wagners on Ebay the same one that Advance sell for 115.00 for 46.01 part #BD125660, they have a 1 year warranity, although they are in GA, wouldn't want to ship them back if they were bad, unless it is from the start.

Just replaced both back rotors and pads for under $100 using the discount codes that Advanceautoparts.com sends out. I think I used one I found on retailmenot.com and saved $35 off of $85 spent. and then placed a second order for the other rotor and used another code for $20 off of $50. Best thing going right now!
Speaking of the back rotors and brakes, not to hijack but my ebrake isn't grabbing on my 01' X now... do I need to adjust them tight again?

Thanks for the retailmenot.com link jrings! I just did the same. Rep points to you!!
O'Reilly Auto sells Wagner rotors with a lifetime warranty. IMO, this is the only way to go if you plan on keeping the vehicle. I have Wagner pads too and will never have to pay for brakes again.
