Ford Ranger 2.5 transmision problem
Hi am Andrew and i am from Polnad.
I've just bought my 98l Standard Cab Ranger with 2.5l engine.
Every thing is fine but there is some transmision problem.
So when the rmp is big you can't shift from 1st to 2nd gear and from 3rd to 2nd is this same. Someone told me that it can be somethin witch name is first-and-second speed synchronizer. Im from Poland so there is a huge problem with parts. My question what i have to do.
Mabye will some one know on witch type or witch car ( areostar, cougar others ) i can change my transmision in to. It's 5 speed manual.
Sory for my bad english im much better with the spoken language. I don;t have to think what i sould write ;-)

Hi Andrew, Welcome to the group. The syncronizer is internal on the transmission. It is like a brass plate with teeth in it to align the gears for an easy shift. You would hafve to take out the tranny and rebuild it to fix the problem. Parts. Parts are always a problem in foreign countries. (Foreign to the U.S.) The best thing to do, I would think, is to put another transmission in it if you are doing it yourself. Or find a shop there that is capable of fixing the truck. As for other vehicles with the same tranmission I am sure some of the other members have better information on that than I could give so I will leave that up to them. I hope all is well there, and good luck.
