pulling a 6.9 from an 86 e350
any pointers on getting my donor motor out of this mess called a van...would much rather it came from a truck but the price is right and it has all the parts..

i've been told it comes out through the side door, but haven't had the pleasure of doing it myself. i believe you start by dropping the tranny, the remove the engine mounts and everything else and slide it back and up

If the van your pulling this out of is junk then just cut away what ever is in the way. Most engines are pulled out the front but I don't know about the diesels. The whole grill and radiator support unbolt and come off.

Torchse not allowed and no power on sight plus my funds haven't allowed for cordless tools...did manage to pry it loose however...pull starter, oil filter, fuel filter and tower, aircleaner, motoermounts and alt... this allows a forklift to fit over the top and not samsh stuff... a really short chain pulled tight and some patience, out it comess... radiator and tranny cooler were out already.. had to pull hood, core support brace and hoodlacth assemly/mount...this thing has new headgaskets, valley pan, glow plugs, glowplug controller and manifold gaskets....it sounds like its got some decent compression too... need to figure out how to check oil and due compression test...couldn't find a dipstick..checked the vin and the van is a 84 factory 6.9liter diesal/auto 1 ton..ps it came out the front....also pulled the sterling 10.25 dually from a 93 cc dually 4X2 with 4.10 gears and limited slip and no slop...now to figure out a disc brake conversion 4 it...and dually conversion parts for the front axle....
