weird tranny problems
Hokay -- got a strange one for someone with an imagination. '93 F350, 7.2L Diesel motor, E4OD tranny. Tranny is computer controlled. Drove all over OK City this morning, on the way back (motor and tranny completely warmed up) as I drove under high voltage electric transmission wires that crossed the road, the OD light on the shift lever suddenly began flashing, and tranny began shifting hard. Normally, this means that the tranny signals the computer that a slip has occurred in the tranny, and the computer throws full hydraulic pressure to tranny to prevent slip damage. Oh, BTW -- new throttle position sensor installed. This is not the first time that has happened on that road. I can drive west, when engine and tranny are not completely warmed up, no problem. Drive east, on my way back home, and this happens at the same place. Getting tired of disconnecting batteries to reset the computer. Any ideas would be welcome -- Bill
