I've been a Ford owner since 1967. 1952 Flathead V8 2-door station wagon was the first and just picked up a 1992 Flair Side V8 4WD auto. There have been a few others in-between. I do most of my own work and used to be a mechanic until cars started to talk back. The last year I worked as a mechanic was when a Cadillac told me "your door is open". That was 1975. I'm still a mechanic but now I repair hydraulic products. I'll be looking for some answers and may even have an answer. I'm mostly old school stuff though. I like carbs and points. Not many of those things around now. I'm a veteran USMC 1967-71
Welcome Bill, I`m more into carbs and points myself and gave up on wrenching about the same time as you did for the same reasons.
As well I've been a long time Ford owner since about 1963. My first was a1951 V8 2-door sedan then it was on to Ford/Mercury trucks as well as Mustangs and Lincolns.
