do 60 year old Rams Horn exhaust manifolds bring about the same amount (or more) as brand new ones (on eBay)?
Philosophical question mostly, but I have seen severely damaged ones bring over half of what new ones cost. There can not be that many people restoring the bigger trucks these came on, so they would care about originality. Plus shipping on the used ones (from an individual usually) is always about twice what a manufacturer can negotiate.
well maybe ..... i found a set at the residence of the fella i went to look at all the flatty goodies at ( couldn't make a reasonable deal on them so .... ) but i did manage to grab them oe rams horns he said come off his 61 1/2 ton , for 60 bucks for the pair . now they are locked away in a safe deposit box to keep my " friends " from liberating them ... awaiting the time i do something with my 292 .....................
Ross, the repros are from John Mummert, who did all the castings.I'm pretty sure they are US made, but they may not be.They are beautifully made, and definitely not in China.Nevertheless, they are of the highest quality.I'd never pay the high,pre-repop prices they were getting a few years ago before John started producing these. Many of those old ones have cracks, broken flanges, etc.Myself, and everyone else I know who's has bought Mummerts, is very happy.
