I came back from a weekend of camping at Elkneck State Park in Md. towing my 29' TT and I was very impressed with the tow performance of my 2010. The 6 speed kept the drastic down shifts when accelerating at bay, and the truck never felt strained, except for the steep inclines, and even then it was not bad. Lie o meter showed 9.2 mpg, not too bad for a loaded weight trailer weight in the mid 6k range, with gear, firewood and family (and starting with 36 gal. of fuel). The 5.4 gets such a bad rap in the automotive world for power, but putting this motor in front of a 6 speed really puts this engine in a new light. It's also hard to fault the 5.4's torque curve too.

 

i agree with you 100% on that i had close to 10000 pounds behind mine and was very impressed with the way it handled the load
