Is there any way of disabling the motor that moves the pedals back and forth? I use the pedals at farthest in as they go, and I use an autolock to protect my expy in bad neighborhoods. I live in Los Angeles. so you know how that goes. well anyways the autolock is rendered useless if the pedals can be moved back. so I need to disable them. any thoughts? responses??
Looking at the wiring diagram for it, it looks like the easiest way to disable the adjustable pedals would be to just unplug the connector to the adjuster motor. If you want to make it still look like it is connected you could cut one of the wires going to the motor and then tape it up so it looks like the factory tape.
For God's sake don't cut any wires.
Maybe you can add/modify the lock so that the electric pedals are stopped when adjustment is attempted. Cut a piece of steel to integrate into the autolock that will contact the firewall if the pedal is moved. :-staun
Ok instead of cutting the wire pull it out of the connector and tape it back in to the harness
What about buying a different type of lock? Maybe one that goes from the steering wheel to the brake pedal and doesnt allow the pedal to be pushed. If the pedals were the whole way down there is now way it could move.
