Differences between years
Hi
Can anyone tell me what changes Ford has made during the 4 years the Excursion has been produced (other than introduction of the Eddie Bauer model and the 6.0 diesel)?
Thanks

Here's some minor changes for ya:
1999-2000 excursions have the "older style" headlights with NO "fog" lights.
2001 - The fog lights were an option , but still with the "older style" headlights
2002-2003 "newer, clear" headlights, with fog lights.
Same goes for the superdutys as well I beleive.
There is more as well, I'm sure, becides the light changes.
Thats all I remember
Hope that helps

Thanks for the input. Sounds like there's not much difference.
I've been debating whether to get a used model or bite the bullet for a new one. I'm leaning toward a used diesel because:
1. Diesel engines last longer, so a used model with some mileage would not be a problem;
2. The 7.3 diesel is tried and true, while apparently there are some problems with the 6.0; and
3. The initial depreciation on a new one is horrendous.
I'm planning on using it to pull a travel trailer. Do you happen to know if the towing package includes a transmission cooler?

JT,
all the excursions have the tow package.. ie: trans cooler, etc.
the only option is the towing mirrors..
Also. i agree with the used idea.. thats what we did... We saved 20 grand, for a truck with 29,000 miles.. cant beat that..

Also , the 03's have body key colored bumpers - instead of chrome.
With the resale value of these things , i would find a used one, and save some cash...
