I couldn't take the drone any more, I ordered an AIS intake system from Clay tonight. I have not had the 6637 on my truck for more than a few months but the drone is driving me nuts, and I am afraid it might be a short drive. Next maybe a 4040XL
A few months isn't bad. It drove me crazy the first week so I ended up building a box around it to kill the drone. You should be happy with the AIS set up.
i drove all the way to Winston Salen, NC. stack kit installed and NO STACKs with 6637 wana talk about drone. it was so bad when i got out of the truck my ears hurt.
I was whining like a little girl, my girlfriend however said that she liked the way it sounded and liked the fact that i had the loudest truck on the highway....GET SOME lol.
Just checked tracking, ordered Saturday night after 11:00 and it's waiting for me when I get home. Clay is the man!! Thanks for the encouragement and the age thing,(Ive earned it) time for wrenching.
Your not the only one. Everytime I pull our 5th wheel I wonder why I haven't changed out that filter yet. I'm going to have to do it before we go back to Colorado this summer.
I just put a 6637 on a few weeks ago, but my wife isn't a fan. I may go back to the AIS, but leave the snorkel off. At my HP level (80E/80T), I'm not sure the 6637 makes that much difference.
AHHHHHHHH, peace and quiet, I didn't realize how much noise I was getting. For those who enjoy it, more power to you. I have so much hearing damage from years of various construction jobs, that I can't hear the turbo, just the drone. To anyone contempating the AIS system, pull the trigger, it's good and install is simple, about 45 miutes.
So the AIS makes the air filter light come on under heavy acceleration, whats the way to fix this? Since that light comes on, does that really mean it flows better than stock? Would that show that its sucking harder and the air isn't moving through?
Same story different day...Those who pull long distance learn really quick that dang 6637filter is loud. After my first pulling the rv trip I couldn't get an AIS fast enough. 6637 is great for running around town and messing around but when it comes to WORK, no thank you.
