dash lights flicker when engine running

dash lights flicker when engine running
my 78 f250 head lights and all dash lights flicker when my engine is runnig have the same problem with my dads 71 2wd f250 wehave chased everything we can think of for his truck and his still does it just woundering if anyone has any ides of where to start on my truck for this problem

More often than not it's a grounding issue, possibly at the voltage regulator, could also be a faulty headlight switch.

thank you for your reply to both of my posts the light makes more sense now lol i will check my grounds for my flickering problem tommorow thanks again
