I was told that the mains on a 351M crank and a 351W crank are the same. I done some research at work and found that as far as the part numbers go they're the same. So I got to thinking. Will a 351W crank fit into a 351M engine? Since I might be redoing the bottom end on my 351M I was just kinda curious seems how they make stroker kits for the 351W and not the 351M. If not....are there any mods needed to swap in a 400 crank? Will I need to use the 400 rods and pistons also or can I still use the 351 rods? If so... I might go that route.
351W & 351M mains are both 3". However, there is a timing cover difference which won't allow you to use a stroker 351W crank. Use a 400 ford crank of have it offset grind to whatever stroke you're attempting.
