I hope you are still planning on doing studs and valve springs. Next to seeing everyone and meeting some new friends that will be the highlight of my trip. I want to see that done first hand before tackling the job myself.
Edit: Never mind. You answered in the other thread. I got the threads mixed up.
Al (AMG SM) did his the last time we were at Andy's. Make sure you call Clay and get your stuff ordered. We should be able to tackle those too.
Awesome... I will give Clay a call on monday morning. Can't wait, we are both excited to come. Again, let us know what to bring... Tools, drinks, food, whatever.
The tie rods were pretty easy. I did Clay's suspension bushings on the sway bar but not the links. Ran out of time. I can help if needed. Let me know if you want me to bring my pickle fork.

Bring whatever tools you'll need for your job. If you need anything else then it'd be best to post up in advance in case I don't have it. Looks like we're going to BBQ so you can bring some stuff for that. It's pretty much BYOB but I usually hit the grocery store hard as well.
Hmm. I do, but it's at my dad's house. I'll try to get it back by then. Worst case we can use a drill and a torch and have the bushings out quick enough.
The e99 endlink bushings come out much easier then the 99.5s and up. I just used a small drill bit to roto-zip around the bolt collar and knocked it out. Then using a hacksaw blade I cut the bushing in half lengthwise and pulled the halves out. The new two piece bushings just push in. I had one bushing so worn I just pulled it out while the endlink was held in a vise.

That would be awesome!!
So here is a list of the stuff I need to do. I've never done any of this, so not real sure what tools I need, if anyone can chime in that would be great.
*OCR
*Tie rods
*Energy Suspension Bushings... front and rear leafs, sway bar and end links.
I also have a question about the HyperFlex kit from riffraff. It says it includes front and rear sway bar bushings... Am I missing something here? I don't see a rear sway bar... just trying to get my ducks in a row before calling clay tomorrow to order everything
If it is too much to try to get done down there, don't need to do it all either. I'm not very mechanically inclined so any helping hands would also be welcome and greatly appreciated.

We will definitely bring some fizzy stuff to drink, or something to mix up some concoctions... Also you mentioned the asphalt work area, what do you think about the bushings project, would a spot on the pavement be a good thing?
Chris, bring it on. This is and was for peter puting injectors, valve spring, glow plugs, etc. when it started so we mit not be able to do everything, but if your willing we will get as much as possible. It depends on how many come and are willing to help all us out. Heck, I thought it would be a good time to update my early 99 also, new turbo everything but I don't think in my case its do able. I would like to do my sway bar brushing if I don't get them in before time, but I would like to help with the injectors etc., if they need it to. This should be a three day event. God bless just my thoughts,
I've been following this thread since it was only two pages long. I just lined up a trip to Monterey on Friday so I can be in the area for the GTG the next day. My 01' has 200k miles on it so I am very interested in seeing how to r&r the injectors.

We should be able to help out. The leaf spring bushings are a lot more work than the sway bars from what I can see. I'm a Chico St. alum so a good drink sits well with me!

Sounds like we may have three trucks worth of sway bar bushings! Mine need replacing badly.

Looking forward to meeting you Robin. Should be a good time!
I posted over in the NorCal section of PSN, inviting Matt, Mikaela, and Alex. Joey posted up too and said he might be able to make it, depending on his Pismo trip.
