ok bout a week ago, i bought gas at kum an go (yes im stupid) i usually get it at hooks a local store an get 91 pure gas anyways i got gas an on way to work it started spit an sputtering. i figured gas was watered down etc and so i put a bottle of heet in it and ran it another day an filled back up with hooks gas after work an went home. the next day i got my new mufflers on because i was running straight pipes for bout 5 days prior to this, anyways when i got the mufflers on it she seemed to run a little better. Then yesterday i had to go to my grandpa's an pull his boat around from his back yard an back it into the garage an it started that spit sputterin miss again. so today i took a short drive with my kids to warm it up and i came back after i went around the block because it was still doing the spit sputtering miss. i checked my plug wires because the procomp wires i had liked to pop off but they were all seated down. then i checked all my plugs #7 an #8 had a good amount of oil/corrision on them so i had new platinum autolites and i put them in and i went an got some accel super stock wires an put them on. I then fired it up let it get warm an did the old timer spray bottle on the header tubes an listened it still missed an hardly evaporated the water at all on #7 and #8. The other 6 cylinders (1-6) soon as the water hit the tube it was gone. Also it has lot of moisture/gas comin out drivers side exhaust but passenger side is good an doesnt spit nothing but fumes out. Its also smoking alittle when i give it a few r's. I'm wondering if i didnt drop cylinders? valves are working fine as far as i can tell with cover off i looked at that also. Its got good fire with plug an wires
i did compression test 1-6 range from 115-150 but 7 & 8 bout got bout 40. so i'm guess its rings for sure. so i guess i'm yank it out an overhaul it if its not worn. motor only has bout 10k on it but first half was or so was hard miles.
glad i tore it apart it isnt rings. the lifters on #7 an 8 cylinder were locked up an wouldnt pump also my head gasket blew out badly on drivers side an 2 push rods were slightly bent. guess you play you pay oh well. good learning lesson
