Find a tag on the rearend or the code on the door jamb sticker. The tag will have some numbers, usually something like 3.50 and usually the "3" has a bolt hole punched through it. The door jamb will have a code we can look up if it's the original rear.
For example if it's 3.50, that means your driveshaft will turn 3.5 turns when the tire turns 1 turn. If you have a 3.08 ratio, the driveshaft will only turn 3.08 turns while the tire will turn 1 revolution. So a 3.50 ratio will make the engine turn faster than a 3.08 ratio, if you keep the same road speed.
