Injector Question
Let me first say thanks for all the great information I have obtained from this forum. So I had the water pump go on my 2000 F350 and was replacing that and figured since half of the front of the motor was off I would check the injectors and glow plugs and do the 50 cent fix. I have been having a tough time starting over the winter and already replaced the GPR which helped alittle but didn't solve the problem completely so I figured the UVCH was probably loose. When I Ohmed the passengers side all looked good. When I Ohmed the drivers side the glow plugs looked good but 3 of the four injectors were around 11 ohms. I took the driver's side valve cover off and the UVCH was loose as shown in numerous pictures on here. I pushed in the harness and put my cut quarter in. When I ohmed the connector again it only reduced the questionable injectors by a few ohms (between 8 and 9 ohms). So here's my question. I read that the injectors should be less than 5 ohms. How bad is it if the injectors are showing 9 ohms? I checked them several time and they are consistantly around 9 ohms. I am getting the shuttering that has also been described when the UVCH is loose. I have not had any check engine light though. Thanks and be safe.

I would replace the VC gasket and harness on that side. You can ohm them directly at the injector but may be hard to do w/o a pigtail. I think the valve cover harness/gasket are interchangeable with the other side so you could try that as well.

tdpower, thanks for the adivse. Turned out to be the wiring harness. Made it to the dealership 5 minutes before closing today. Hopefully will have truck back together this weekend. Thanks again and be safe.
