Need help with hesitation

I have a 1995 F-150 that hesitates about 10 seconds when stepping on the gas. I just replaced the fuel filter and both fuel pumps. I don't know what to check.

What engine's in it? Do you have A/C?

Is the CEL on? What motor? Have you checked th fuel pressure?

First thing you need to do is pull the codes.. even if the CEL isnt on. go to fordfuelinjection.com to learn how to pull the codes yourself or buy an OBD1 code reader off of amazon

Also try checking the timing, with a timing light. But it's a lot easier with A/C because your belt isn't in the way of the grid.

Yes, there is A/C. Engine is a 302

The CEL comes on sometimes, but it doesn't stay on. I will try checking the timing to see if that helps. I had a friend hook it up to a scanner, but it wouldn't pull any codes.

Clean the STI and STO pins on the Diagnostic Link with a small screwdriver and some contact cleaner then try pulling them again. You can also do this: Ford Fuel Injection » How To Run a Self-Test
