no running lights...

no running lights...

hey guys i have a 1978 ford 3/4 ton and i have a flat bed with boat trailer lights there is 2 wires on each light one is green one is brown but there are to extra wires on the factory wiring im guessing those go to my running lights do i tie them into one of those wires on my boat trailer lights.

i have brake lights and turn signal lights im just confused how to get the running lights to work.

Turn on your parking lights and take a light tester and see which one is hot.

brown wire is running lite other wire is signal lite wire

hey thanks guys got it all working in the rear of the truck but i still have no running lights or turn signals up front but i have the running lights on the fenders im thinking its the sockets i will check it out tomarrow.

Had the same problem with mine. Take a pick and scrape the inside of the light sockets out. If that doesn't totally fix the problem, then buy new sockets at LMC.

yea i have another grill with the lights in it and i thing the sockets are in that one im not sure its out in the barn i will check. i got tired after all my wiring today and forgot to take the old volt meter to them but hey i got running lights and dash lights and i put some leds under the dash so i can see when i need to find somthing the po cut the factory lights out from under the dash.....

i went to autozone and got the pack of two little led strips they come in a pack for 15.00 i got white. and ran them to the factory wires under dash one on driver one on passanger. they have 3m tape on them and they work great 2 of them were plenty for me but i guess you could do 4 of them if you wanted i just didnt want the crazy ricer neon look haha.

way way way off subjuct but while im talking to someone i am new here but not to forums i am having a problem finding some parts for my old dent and i asked some people trying to part out trucks but noone will anwser me.... i just need a couple chrome trim pieces and the plastic gauge besel and a few other things any ideas?

um just the big peice that goes all the way around the heater controls radio and guages mine has been cut and broken to put in a new school cd player instead of the old am. i mounted my new alpiine under the dash like a cb

Don't have that one! Just the exterior tim pieces. I'm surprise you didn't mount it where the normal radio goes, you Just have to cut it out.

ya its been cut used abused and broked i sould have used a dremel or maybe a small cut off wheel but looks like thy used a pair of kitchen sizzers or somthing who knows and the factory metal bracket is destroyed!!! so i just played it safe with under the dash haha

which trim do you have i have the center trim peice midway down the door i need the lower one its chrome and black and the lower one on the fender passanger side.

Just have the trim that follows the dent part of the truck. I don't have any of the lower trim. My trim is the smaller all chrome trim. Its not the thick style. Besides the trim I have some extra doors and door parts if you need them.

um my doors are good for now i need door seals and window seals all the way around mine are mia. lol
