I have an 05' 6.0 82k for mileage first owner and thought I took care of this truck. Last weekend I got my first CEL and got the low circuit for all 8 cylinder codes while pulling 5th. Normally driven as normal transportation with the occassion heavy loads 1500 lbs in bed or 7500# (5th). Been reading posts, thinking FICM but want to be sure, have not checked voltage going to on Friday (time contraints). No smoke, no power loss, no overheating, no hard starts, no rough idle... Am I covering all of my bases? I can perform basic mechanics but aside from checking the voltage on the FICM am not an electrician. Help!
do you think glow plugs? I can start the truck within 5 seconds of turning the ignition, again, I do not know enough about the glow plugs so how do I check them?
Thanks,
thanks I will on Friday and let you guys know, it should drop below 45v if it is going out? From what I was reading, the problem is progressive due to heat and the resistors losing connectivity ultimately causing the signs to get worse? If I clear the codes and drive it what is the worst that could happen?

It will NOT necessarily drop below 45V if it's going out, but below 45 and it's definitely toast. It's not necessarily a progressive problem either. It just depends on what fails and when.
