Couple of ???
Yesterday I purchased a '79 Ford van tilt-auto steering column. From what I can gather reading this forum I can use any P/S box from '67-'79, am I correct? If so will I have to extend the center shaft to meet the sector? I would also like to know where to buy a poly-urethaene bushing kit for my '65 F-100? Thanks, and I really appreciate all the info posted here.

The PS gear from the 70's will work. In fact this is a bolt in deal. Get a pump and brackets from whatever engine you are using. I'd be interested in knowing how difficult it was to install the van column. You should do a tech article on this since lots of the peole here want to install a tilt. Tilt was available in pickups as well but these are very hard to find in good condition. Don'tknow about the poly bushing business I use NAPA.

Bi, You will need to change the lower shifting arm and take at lease 6 1/2" out of the length of the column to make it the same length as the p-up. I haven't installed my tilt yet but if it is like the one in there now, another couple in. shorter would be ok with me.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responce. A few (4) years ago I helped a friend install the same set up in a C---y, It worked quit well so that's what gave me the inspiration. If this goes OK I will post here. It will be sometime this summer. I'm gathering parts for now, until I can get my p/u out of stroage.
