I've been internet shopping for a new F-350 dually and have come across an item on serveral window stickers listed as "BACKGLASS DEFROST" for $155. These window stickers were on vehicles manufactured within the last few weeks. I have questioned a few sales people about this feature and none could adequately explain it, but they say it does not delete the sliding rear window. Is anyone familiar with this feature?
Yep, I have it on mine. It's a defrost for the back window, works in conjunction with the rear view mirrors (when you hit the button, the mirrors/back glass defrost all kick in). When the snow piles up in the bed and I jump on the parkway, the wind blows it up onto the glass and freezes on there, press the button and with a minute or 2, it's all melted.
I haven't had any issues with it, rear slider works great too. The rear window obviously has to be closed in order for the defroster to work.
