I drove to our local grocery store today and seen a f600. At least that's what I thought it said. It was a dump bed on a dentside body. Out of love for the dentside I walked over and looked inside of it. The dash was identical but, it had round factory gauges in the factory holes. My idea was to find a junker and use the dash bezel and put aftermarket round gauges. Anyone ever looked inside of a f600 and seen this. If it bolts or screws in place why would you waste time and effort making one? If its not a f600 then please correct me.
This dash I seen was identical to a 73-79. Not sure of the year of truck it was. Where the plastic bezel around the gauges where it was metal. I'll have to do some researching and find out if they put that dash in a 79. Hopefully it wasn't some fluke deal.

I have not seen that either and my uncle has several 73-79 F-600s on the farm. They all have the 67-72 style dash. I'd like to see some pics of what you are referring to.
If I see it again in our town I will take pics. We live in a small town so hopefully the situation will present itself again. You said even the 79 had the older dashes in it?
Yes, the larger trucks used the 69-72 style dash. A lot of the Bump guys have used them for custom guages and they look sweet. But I dont think that without considerable metal work you could get them in a Dent pickup. Unless you swapped in the whole dash, which I have considered. If you do that, you will loose the padded dash. Or at least Ive never seen one of the bigger trucks with a padded dash..............
