I have a 94 bronco 5.8L auto has a significant engine miss under load in overdrive has new plugs wires and dis cap have done no mods problem started over time now getting worse really noticed climbing steep grades at high speed any info much appreciated no check engine lights no problems with anything else also sometimes when you start it cold it almost dies then revs up real quick then normal kind of falls on its face soon as it hits then back to normal think this started about the same time
Did you replace the rotor along with the dist cap? you should have. Not that it will solve your problem, but it won't hurt either. If you have done no modifications to your truck lately, you should try checking the codes, as the miss will be probably happening because of a failing sensor.
ok well we run scan with snap on solus no codes shown noticed the wire boot on the fifth cylinder is jumping spark i think that is the problem cracked boot it has new ngk plugs should i change them im not a fan of them ??
yes change the plugs to regular motorcraft or autolite copper plugs. for some reason our ford motors dont like anything else. Also a set of Ford 9mm wires would be recommended.
Separate 5-6 wires because your firing order is 6-5 adjacent to each other and you may get cross firing. I have always used Motorcraft plugs but tried NGK V-Groove (copper) this time and like them but it is too soon to tell how long they last.
