There are 2 different codes for each package. The 507A has all the options on XLTs including the Power windows, etc, and the 503A has the trim but did not have the windows/locks. 503A was eliminated for 1994, so all 1994+ XLT's have the same equipment.
XL's had 500A and 501A. The trim is minus from the XLT however Power windows and locks are available.
Custom also had two codes, however I'm not sure what they are.

Where did all that info come from? I've never seen a T-18 or T-19 in anything; rolling or in the junkyards, and I've seen some documentation that neither was available after '84. The only XL Sport ("XLS") I've ever seen was an '84 Bronco.
XLS was a package in the early 1980s Broncos. I have a little bit of information on it in brochures, but not a whole lot. STX was also available in those years aswell, both in the Broncos and F-100/150s. They had their own wheels too.
The later Sport package, as you mentioned in an earlier post, was a blacked-out package. It came with the same roll-bar back bumper as the lightnings did and had custom stripes on the side. I've seen a couple throughout the years, and some had roll-bars as stock equipment.

Just got 80 and 81 left for 80-96. And maybe 97 heavy duty? My 94 brochure doesn't mention a 4 speed manual; the 93 does though. I've only seen them in person on 93-down too. I think only the T18 was put in these later years.

That explains the EB F-150 in my town with red hubcaps. AFAIK, these went to black in 95. That was bugging me.
That's one thing brochures lack is the .5 stuff.
Interesting too about the tachs and sliding rear windows. Anyone else notice these are more common on 87-91 than other years?

I was unaware of the limited-slip differentials being standard equipment on these models. How can I tell if my truck has one(other than attempting to lay patch for a block)?
Lots of neat info there Pastmaster. I too am working on getting all the brochures.

If you look on the back cover of your '92 brochure, the fold out one, you'll see the black sport I was talking about. According to the brochure, the sport package, only available on XLTs, a.k.a. Package B, came with black steel tubular rear bumper, black steel rally bar, halogen off-road lamps, and 80-amp alternator.
Steve, I'll work on that, I know theres plenty of people on this site who'd like to see some pics and options on these trucks, not too mention the color combinations.
I have some older brochures, my oldest Ford one is for the 1997 F-Series though =( I get a little nostalgic looking at the 1996 GMC trucks brochure.
Just for package comparison, here's what my dad's 1991 Ford F-150 Custom (2wd, standard cab, shortbed) came with.
300 I6, 5 speed on the floor.
Standard dashboard instrumentation (no tach)
light grey dashboard, bench seat, and flooring.
No headliner
No radio
lockable glove box
single bulb dome light
chrome front bumper
steel rear bumper
cargo light
steel wheels with hubcaps
My 1989 F-150 XL (2wd, standard cab, shortbed) came with:
300 I6, 5 speed on the floor
Deluxe intrument display (tach)
medium red interior including cloth headliner, plastic interior trim
and rear cab wall carpeting
vynil flooring
Matching red cloth trimmed door pockets
Soft yellow courtesy dome light and accent map lights
Am/fm cassette clock radio with 6" door speakers
cruise control
lockable glove box
Simulated woodgrain dash bezel trim
Styled steel wheels with red pinstriped accent rings
vynil body molding with chrome stripe accent
chrome front and rear bumpers with black vynil molding
We were told by the dealer when we traded in my 89' for my 94' that my XL was an "upper scale" XL package, that different XL's came with different options depending on how they were ordered. Mine was probably the most loaded an XL came back then except for an automatic tranny.
Oddly enough my 1994 was an XL and included everything my 89' did, except it didn't have the door map pockets and map lights in the dome light. As a 'trade off' I guess, it had an auto tranny and cloth bench seat.
Whats really strange to me now is my 1997 Lariat doesn't even have a locking glove box.
They weren't necessarily standard equipment, but just look at the AXLE code on the door sticker - if it starts with "H" (like H9), it's limited slip. Also, if the second position of the second line on the rear axle tag is "L", it's L/S.
