well if you ever wanted to add a cam to your engine to give it more power for pulling... you'd quickly realize the limited options you have with SD and the plethora of options a MAF truck has...

If I had MAF, my 351w would be making tons more power than your 6.9idi right now... LOL!

no... a MAF 351w with gt40 intake and heads, long tube headers, agressive cam, and upgraded ignition would put you over the 6.9 easily!

Keep in mind your old ID is only running 170hp and 315lb/ft tq stock, and a 96 351w with maf was already running 210 HP and 325 lb/ft tq stock...

More torque, but a stock 351 makes more HP than my 6.9

6.9 only makes 170HP and 330ft. Torque. Now ofcoarse that's all in low RPM's compared to the 351..

Just went back to double check the numbers...

My 88 was already making 40 MORE HP than your IDI and only 10 lb/ft of tq behind you... Heck even without MAF I'm sure a set of long tubes would make the 6.9 and 5.8 even up!

You add a better SD cam and you're already eating my dust!

Yeah! 1 PSD injector cost twice more than a set of 8 IDI injectors!

That's why I love my IDI camper. Gets excellent mpg, may be slow in the hills, but it's never let me down, and tune ups are as cheap to do as on any gas engine!

I actually found one not far away... 130,000 on it in a 91 Dodge 5spd... I'd have to drive a dodge though... ick!

I really like the 70's-93 Dodges. It's the newer model I hate.
