My bosses 01 F350 4x4 is making some horrid grinding noises in the front axle, He claims its the bearings and hubs. I'm not there to look at it, but Its my job to tear into it tomorrow.
Being a 2wd guy I have no experiance with hubs, he mentioned getting "Warn" replacment hubs.
What do you guys recommend? are the Warn hubs a good choice, are there any special tools we will need to do bearings and hubs.
Any help is appreciated, I already installed 3 brake backing plates on his boat trailer backwards last friday.
I have to redeem myself tomorrow...
Yep. The spacer for the wheel. You may could do it without taking it off, but I found it easier to take the spacer off. Get a 2x4 about 24" and slip it between the lugs to hold the rotor from turning while taking the nuts off the spacer. Let me know if I can help, or get you a 4x4 and learn.

Cant I just get the 4x4 sticker instead.... I think I'll get plenty of practice on his truck. he works it pretty hard.
I would rather have a two speed rear end, so I could have a granny gear for backing trailers, and a good hwy gear for mileage.
Thanks for the tip, and keep an eye on this thread tomorrow, I'm sure I'll have a few questions...
Good luck Frank, looks like a cut and dry install although I just had mine done today, trying to stimulate the economy, well, no time and short on tools really.

Thanks Mike, I'll let you know how bad the job is tomorrow.
Ok, they are apart. Boss is on the fence if he wants WARN manual hubs or stock Ford hubs. Dealer wants 2x the cost of the Warns.
I looked on Eds site, but I know hes out recovering. Plus I couldnt find what I was looking for anyhow.....Anyone Have a dealer connection?, or can lead me to a site sponser that can get the Stockers for less than the local Dealer.
If he decides on Warns, Clay will be the man.
Clay, Rifraf has Warns both standard and premium, also if your in a bind, sometimes Advanced carries the warns, ballpark of $200 for both. yeah I would not go back with stockers, cheap design I think
