Check Engine light reset?

Is the sound a clicking sound if yes starter solenoid replace, if no this use to work crawl under give the starter a rap with a rubber mallet then try and start. If it turns over get a new starter if not get a mechanic .

The reason it wouldn't start was due to my work on the DPF. I had taken the DPF off to clean, etc. and started the truck to blow the soot out the end of the CAT. With the DPF sensor disconnected, it shut the system down and wouldn't let it restart after I turned it off. I reinstalled the DPF, cleared codes with a recently purchased code reader
, and it fired right up.Thanks for the responses. -Jake
