Hey guys, I had a quick question regarding an aftermarket headliner. I have a 54 F100 and have found a really good price on a Roddoors ABS headliner on ebay (5 available). However, the one on ebay is for a 1956 F100 Bebops 56 Fiberglass Cab with small rear window. The pic is at 1956 FORD BEBOP Fiberglass Cab Headliner Limited Supply - eBay (item 110539314023 end time Mar-24-11 10:42:50 PDT)
I know the differences between the 54 and 56 as far as the windshield wrapping around and the rear windows being different. However I cant tell if the way this piece lays will matter or not. These are selling for $99 and I need a headliner in a bad way to finish my interior. Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated. Thanks again everyone.
I can't say for sure, I seriously dout a fiberglass cab would have the same sturcturaly support pieces in the same places as a steel cab. I don't even know it that would make a difference, but for a $99 it's very tempting to try.
OK....so I spoke to Bebops Glassworks and they stated that the listing is incorrect as that they have no affiliation with Roddoors for a glass only application. I also contacted Blaine Roberts from Roddoors which if you email him or call the 530 number on the website he still sales most of his products if you call and request them. He stated that the headliner is only made for a 56 and will be virtually impossible to modify. He also stated that in the listing, which is posted by someone in NC, the headliner does not come with any hardware or the quarter panels for the rear of the cab making it not such a good deal as the end product would be incomplete with the slim chance of ever finding the remainder of the headliner. With that being said, I have ordered a new headliner from Roddoors and can't wait to get it here. Blaine was very helpful and answered all questions I had for him. Thanks again to everyone that replied and for your help, opinions, and expertise.
The business closed in 2009 and Blaine had to shut the doors due to the economy. He went from having a shop with 13 employees to now just a one man crew. He has recently began a new business plan that he hopes he can begin building his business again to what it once was. He does not use the website right now so it still shows as closed and he doesn't offer all of the previous products due to molds being sold, destroyed, etc. If you are looking for something in particular just give him a call at 530-828-9426 or email him at bar@roddoors.com. He was more than helpful and very friendly. Sounds to me he came across some bad times and is trying to get back to doing what he loves.
The headliner with all hardware and quarter panels is 219. I bought the rubberless version for a cleaner look. With the freight the total was 265.68. It was a little more than some other versions out there but from what I hear you get a much better product and Blaine stated it installs in 5 minutes. He also included a 70 minute DVD on how to upholster your project.
Good deal. Are you familiar with which spray adhesive you will be using? Aplication method? How about the material? Type and color? This could be a very informative "How to" posting. Jag
Hey guys hoping you can steer me in the right direction. Looking for a complete headliner kit all included. Not just the top but one that rolls from the top right down behind the seat and corners around window. Smooth all one piece.
I looked on Roddoors as you saw posted but they only have the liner not upholstered already. I guess i could do it myself but have never done upholstery.
Right now i have the original cardboard top only cant wait to replace it.
