Airman Certificate

Today, I had my appointment with the flight examiner. Everything that could go wrong did. At the end though, when he had finished critiqueing the things I had done differently then what he wanted. He said, "We'll go ahead and make you an airman."

You could have poured me out of a glass at that point. I scribbled my name on the line and accepted my Private Pilot license.

After I flew home, I was (am) mentally and physically exhausted.

I not proud of how it went, I was my own worst enemy.

But I passed.

Congratulations Dan! (gives secret zoomie handshake)

Like I said before, that first check ride is instructive as well as demonstrative. I think now you know what I mean!

I think all good pilot's are humbled by the experience and it is one that we all share. The only ones that aren't humbled, IMHO, are the bold pilots. You know the saying...there are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots

Okay now pard, when do we depart for the middle east? I'm sure we could drop a nice package special delivery from the USA to convey our sentiment. Nothing says "sorry dude" more than a 500 pound *Hallmark Card*, LOL!

PROP CLEAR!

Scott

Thanks Scott, your words are right on. I'm still humbled by it and it sounds like others have the same reaction I did.

I would love to deliver a 500 lb greeting card to Iraq but a 172 Skyhawk has a usefull load a little over 800lbs. A 500 pounder, me at 210 allows 100 lbs of fuel.

Mike Yankee Zulu traffic, 1424Echo is departing runway 15 with a departure to the east.

Hey Cobra! I didn't know you were a zoomie too!

Dan, forget the fuel. We'll just load the greeting card on the Skyhawk and push the whole thing out the back of a C-17!

Two four Echo, you are cleared for vertical departure!

Heavy to tower: Skyhawk away!

Yeah, I took my ride a few years ago. Nothing like doing a stall and having oil come over the callen because your oil cap came off... Meanwhile you're looking at each other saying "Uh Oh - this ain't good..." and fighting over the controls

I want in on this Skyhawk drop... I can paint a mean Mickey Mouse face...

Yeah, that Skyhawk needs some nose art! I asked Carlene to pose for me and we came up with this:

'Course all the best of the rest were just way too immodest!

Dang Scott, I'm glad you didn't show them the other one I sent you! ! ! !

Of course, I don't think that one would have been allowed anyway.
