engine swap?

I got an 84 ford 4x4 with a 1979 ford 400 automatic tranny was wondering if a 351 windsor will bolt up to tranny and mounts

might bolt up to the mounts (if they weren't hacked out for the 400) but you'll definitely need a correct 351w bellhousing style transmission.

A 460 would be an easier conversion. Just need conversion mounts and it will bolt up to the bellhousing.

the 351m/ 400 bellhousing will match a 429/460 big block but not a 351w. if you chose the 351w you will have to find a small block transmisson. a standard trans is alot easier because the bellhousing is removeable from small to big block with the new process 4 speed. just a thought. if i can help let me know.
