brake controller problem

Story unfolds like this. My truck is an 06 F350 with 6.0. Blown head gasket (second one in 3 years). Take it to dealership for warranty repair. Two weeks later they say it's done. Take it home that day. Park in driveway and it's leaking antifreeze. Take it back. Two days later they say it's fixed. Park it in driveway and it's leaking antifreeze. Take it back and when I'm backing into a spot at the dealership I shift to reverse and get "trailer fault" message on dash. They keep it four days and it's finally fixed but they say the "trailer fault" is due to a short. About three years ago I had a second 7 point trailer plug installed on the inside of my bed for my fifth wheel. They told me to take it to the shop that installed that plug for a fix. I plugged my fifth wheel into both plugs and the same result is that my brakes go to full deployment. I know they lifted the cab for the head repair and I think the problem is due to their work. Can anyone shed any light on my problem?

It definately sounds like your wiring has been crossed somewhere in the cab removal. You can test each of the prongs on the trailer plug with a volt meter or continuity tester. It is helpful to have someone step on the brake while you are checking it. You can see if all of the connections are correct or if only the one for your brakes. I don't know what the dealer did to remove the cab but there must have been some malfunction on there end. Good luck with the fix.
