Need input from everyone fast
Did FORD have a problem in 1986 with the 351W motor. I read somewhere that around 200k alot of people have had problems with a serious knocking. Mine did it and I was just wondering it this was something ford had a problem wiht.

Ace, I've never heard a claim about any problems with a 351W knocking. Your question sounds like one you'd ask if this were something that is common to Ford products, the 351W specifically. But you do have to consider that with 200,000 miles on an engine, you've pretty much gotten the life out of it. Does it smoke? Do you have oil blowby? Sounds like time for a rebuild to me.

I have 135k on my 351, its starting so make some noise, but it's also time for an oil change. If it's a heavy knock it's a rod. If it's a little knock it could be a wrist pin on bearing, hows the oil pressure?

I have already sold that truck and the guy asked me what is wrong with the motor. I thought i had read on this website before about that problem with the bearings. the motor never used a drop of oil
