Toolbox and Gooseneck

I've always run pintle hitch trailers for work, but I like the idea of the extra ton of cargo with the gooseneck. I have a short bed and after looking over the idea today it seems like if I used a gooseneck with my toolbox in the rear, if I were to get in a severe angle with the truck and trailer ( \/ , that kind of angle) that I run the risk of smashing the neck of the trailer into the toolbox? I'd say there is maybe two feet of clearance there.

I personally wouldn't hook up a gooseneck and have a toolbox on my truck (SB).
Maybe some do it but I am sure I would forget one day and cause a problem.

Edit: I'm also thinking along the lines of an equipment gooseneck trailer not something as big as a horse trailer which I wouldn't even consider with a toolbox.

I'd think you'd probably have an issue there, my buddy has a long bed 350 and hit his 5ver on his tool box within an hour of buying the trailer. Maybe yours won't hit but just watch it real close with the firt tow

i have one in my bed and towed for over 6 yrs with it. i can tow a flatbed goose-neck with no problems, but when i tow our big cow trailer, it has a weird front piece on the nose and causes me to take the tool box out.

the middle pic is very similar to our cow trailer, ours is 30ft with dual jacks...

a flatbed would have to be cut alomost 90 degrees for it to hit my toolbox..

forgot to say i have a low profile toolbox, so that helps alittle bit...

I took my saddle type tool box off and replaced it with an "in the bed" box on my old SB and had no problems with a conventional 5th wheel.
Most goose-necks (I had an adepter for my truck) would be OK too, except the one pictured above.
